The National Public Data Breach -
How to Protect Yourself

We understand that news of the recent National Public Data breach may have caused concern, and we want to reassure you that your protection is our top priority. We have already sent over 200,000 dark web alerts to our existing clients related to this breach and, if you received one, you're protected.

We understand you may have questions, but please know that if you received an alert, this only means we found your information online. It does not mean you are a victim of identity theft or that we can erase your information from the dark web. We are monitoring the situation closely and there is no need to speak to an agent unless you have experienced a specific issue or have been a victim of identity theft. If you do choose to call, your patience is appreciated as we have seen a substantial increase in calls and extended hold times due to questions related to this breach.

The good news is that there are some preventive steps you can take to reduce your risk:

  • Review Your Credit Reports: This is a free service available at www.annualcreditreport.com. A new report can be pulled once a week from each of the 3 bureaus. Any discrepancies or unfamiliar items could be a sign of potential identity theft.
  • Place a Fraud Alert by visiting www.experian.com. This will let potential creditors know to thoroughly verify the identity of any applicant using your information. Fraud alerts are free and last 1 year. When you place a fraud alert with Experian, a similar fraud alert will be automatically placed with the other 2 major bureaus, Equifax and TransUnion.
  • Be Vigilant: Keep an eye on financial statements and report any suspicious activity. Use strong, unique passwords and never use the same password on multiple sites. Do not download attachments in texts or emails from unknown senders.
  • Stay Protected: If you haven't already created your online account and set up personal information monitoring on your Zander account, you should do it now! While no company can prevent all identity theft, we can only monitor the personal information that you provide, so it's important to complete this step to ensure the best possible protection.
  • Keep Up to Date: If you haven't already upgraded to our Elite plan, now is the time to take advantage of all the additional features such as: Home Title Monitoring, Financial Transaction Monitoring, 1-Click Credit Lock, UltraVPN, Ultra Antivirus, Financial Account Takeover Monitoring, and more! Some competitors charge $20 a month for home title monitoring alone!

Your peace of mind is our priority, and we are committed to ensuring you remain protected and informed. Thank you for your business, your trust, and for being part of the Zander family.
